A little bit about me

Hi! I`m Rob Miyashiro, your candidate for re-election to Lethbridge City Council.

For the past 34 years my job every day has been focused on improving lives…not in an intangible, unclear way, but in a very real and substantial manner. I have developed and implemented successful programs and services in the Children’s Services, Disabilities, Employment and Senior sectors. I worked with the people of Southwestern Alberta to build their vision for children and families, and developed an adolescent treatment centre for Kainaiwa Childrens Services on the Blood Tribe First Nation. When I left Kainaiwa Children’s Services I was given the Blackfoot name Aakaoko’si (Many Children), in honor of my years of service to children and families.

I am currently Executive Director of Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization. I am a former Little League baseball coach/organizer and I occasionally volunteer with the Humane Society. I play what passes for hockey, slo-pitch, curling and golf. My adult children live in B.C. and my son Kael attends school in Lethbridge. Erin and I live in Legacy Ridge with Farley and Annie (dogs), and Magoo (cat).
